DaHo Reverse Latch Splicing Needles

DaHo Reverse Latch Splicing Needles represent the latest advancement in hollow Spectra splicing tools. The original concept was developed by Jerry Brown, a pioneer in hollow Spectra line technology, and has been refined to deliver improved performance, reliability, and ease of use.

Design Innovation

Traditional latch needles were originally designed for textile knitting machines and were later adapted for use with hollow braided lines. However, in those applications, the latch mechanism must be pushed into the line, forcing the latch open and often causing significant fiber damage.

DaHo Reverse Latch Splicing Needles solve this problem by using the latch mechanism as it was originally intended:

  • The needle is pulled through the line, not pushed

  • Internal pressure from the braid keeps the latch closed during insertion

  • This greatly reduces fiber damage and improves splice quality

This “reverse latch” approach is unique and provides a major functional advantage over traditional latch needles.

Functional Advantages

Many splicing and loop-creation techniques require the ability to release the line during the process while the tool is still inside the braid.

Standard loop splicing needles cannot perform this function.

DaHo Reverse Latch Needles provide:

  • Controlled line release capability

  • Improved flexibility in complex splicing operations

  • Ability to perform advanced loop and splice configurations

Extended Reach Design

Unlike traditional latch needles, which are limited in length, DaHo Reverse Latch Needles are mounted on standard 6-inch needle bodies, allowing:

  • Longer insertion depth

  • Larger loop creation

  • Greater control during splicing

The latch mechanism is positioned at the trailing end of the tool, ensuring proper function throughout the operation.
