Our Story

DaHoPro Tools (Formerly Daho Products) was originally conceived in Jerome, Idaho, USA, by Lanny Keithley, founder and inventor of the specialized tools that helped shape this field. Lanny’s work made a lasting impact on those who rely on precision tools for working with modern braided lines. Though he has since passed, his innovation and dedication continue to guide the products we manufacture today.

Today the company operates from Twin Falls, Idaho, and is proudly woman-owned and veteran-owned.

DaHo Products was created to manufacture and distribute specialized tools designed to simplify working with modern hollow braided lines, including Spectra and Dacron. These tools are widely used in game fishing, kite flying, and other line-oriented applications. Over time, our manufacturing capabilities have also expanded to include precision tools used in medical and prosthetic manufacturing environments.

Lanny Keithley’s work began while fishing for large sturgeon in Idaho’s Snake River. The powerful fish and rocky river conditions quickly exposed a problem: traditional fishing lines were expensive and frequently damaged. After researching alternatives, Lanny transitioned to hollow-core Spectra lines, which offered significant advantages.

However, it soon became clear that the tools available for working with these lines were limited, expensive, and often sold only as large sets that most users did not need.

With braided line strengths ranging from under 50 pounds to over 1,000 pounds, most anglers and technicians only require tools suited to one or two specific sizes. Recognizing this gap, Lanny set out to design better performing hollow-core needle tools that could be purchased individually, making them both more practical and more affordable.

Those original designs became the foundation of the tools still produced today.

DaHo Products continues that mission by manufacturing precision tools designed for reliability, performance, and specialized applications.
